As the Between Brain & Binary: An Explorative Series on the Story of Mental Health and AI draws to a close, this feels like the right moment to pause and reflect on the journey so far — and to share what comes next.

When I first began this project, it was driven by a simple but powerful curiosity: how are technology and psychology shaping one another, and what does that mean for the future of mental health? Over the course of the series, we have traced that evolving relationship — from the birth of psychology as a science to the dawn of artificial intelligence, from the early experiments in telepsychiatry to the emotionally responsive systems of today, and finally, to the emerging future of predictive, personalised care.

The series was designed to offer a wide-angle view — a broad, interconnected narrative that shows how far we have come and where the field is heading. But this is only the foundation. In the coming months, I plan to go deeper into specific themes and questions introduced here: exploring particular technologies, reviewing new research, examining ethical challenges, and highlighting the innovations that are shaping the next generation of mental health care.

This is also where you come in. If you have been following the series, I would love to hear your thoughts. Which topics resonated most with you? What areas would you like to see explored in more detail? Are there questions you would like answered in future articles? Your feedback will help guide the direction of the work that follows.

If you are new to the Between Brain & Binary: An Explorative Series on the Story of Mental Health and AI  you can start reading the full series from the beginning here. And if you are curious about why I started this project and what inspired Mindful Machines Journal, you can learn more about that here.

Thank you for reading, engaging, and thinking alongside me. The intersection of mind and machine is one of the most compelling frontiers of our time, and this series is just the beginning of a much larger conversation. I hope you will continue to be part of it — as a reader, a thinker, and a contributor to the dialogue.
